Locomotive FC keeper Logan Ketterer remains on loan at Portland Timbers

EL PASO, TX – El Paso Locomotive FC goaltender Logan Ketterer will stay at Portland Timber for a bit longer.

Locomotive FC head coach Mark Lowry has said Ketterer will stay with the MLS club for at least a week.

Ketterer is on a short-term contract with the Portland Timbers because the Timbers suffered multiple goaltending injuries.

The move comes as no surprise after Ketterer’s exceptional performance in his first game with the club this weekend.

Ketterer did not allow a goal and also blocked a penalty.

His performance in his first game earned him the MLS Team of the Week.

The Portland Timbers will host the LA Galaxy this Saturday.

The deal with the Timbers was only supposed to last 4 days, and it came at a good time for Locomotive FC as they didn’t have a game last weekend.

Now that the second game of the season approaches this Saturday, Lowry finds himself without his star goalie and he will look at his two substitutes to fill the void.

The starting role could go to either Marco Canales, a 19-year-old goalkeeper on loan from FC Juarez, or Javier Beker, from El Paso.

Lowry says he’s ready to bring in other goalies to try out the position, and the decision will most likely be made on game day.

Locomotive FC will take on UT Rio Grande Valley on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Southwest University Park.
