MORTON GROVE, ILLINOIS, USA, June 17, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Mary Ann Pusateri, CEO of Morton Grove, Illinois-based Partnership Financial Credit Union, received the Credit Union Hero of the Year award for its commitment to community service, financial education and professional mentorship programs. She was selected via an online poll by readers of Credit Union Magazine, sponsored by Symitar. Qualified people are unsung heroes, going above and beyond promoting the philosophy of credit unions. The hero demonstrates a strong belief and dedication to the principles of credit unions, making a difference in their community and, in Ms. Pusateri’s case, embracing the power of partnerships.
One partnership she and other area credit union CEOs formed was a networking group. When three of his peers wanted to retire, they feared it would lead to the demise of their credit unions. For this reason, Ms. Pusateri suggested partnering rather than merging. The four CEOs picked the best each credit union had to offer and combined them into a new credit union, Partnership Financial Credit Union (PFCU), founded in 2014.
Ms. Pusateri has initiated other partnerships, including a women’s leadership golf group which also raises funds for various charities. Meetings include golf lessons, a team race and an educational presentation. “The idea was to allow women to network…it’s a chance to learn something new. You have so many more opportunities by doing this. That’s why she advises leaders to meet their peers and “get involved in anything and everything.” I learned from people who have been there for a year and from those who have been there for 50 years.
There is a longstanding partnership that has not changed in his 33 years in the industry: the partnership with his members. She has always focused on member service. “Our slogan, You are our most important partner, means that our members are our priority. We have received many compliments from our members about our staff on how they go the extra mile. It brings me great joy to know that our team lives and breathes the battle cry – Our most important partner is you.
PFCU has forged many partnerships with Ms. Pusateri at the helm, including sponsoring and supporting local charities and community events. She and her team are always ready to volunteer when needed. For example, when the war in Ukraine began, PFCU partnered with Meest-Karpaty and the Self-Reliance Foundation to raise funds and donate supplies to efforts in Ukraine.
PFCU is a member-owned, community-friendly financial institution with offices in Barrington, Des Plaines, Evanston, Franklin Park, Glenview, Morton Grove and River Grove at Triton College.
